Everything I ever expected fantastic quality and very easy set up(plug and play) great to have additional space on my desk due to no wires and clutter free!
additional features on keyboard help reduce space also (calculator etc)
no looking back now gone are tha days of unsightly cluttersome wires on my workspace
And cheap to purchase at that would happily pay double next time |
excellent value for money

As a replacement for my suddenly problematic wireless HP keyboard, I decided to go for this Microsoft Keyboard & mouse bundle.
It's really easy to use as you just plug it into your PC and it recognises the hardware, you connect the keyboard & mouse to the wireless receiver and away you go!
Along with the hotkeys which provide fast access to your email, music, my computer, favourites & Internet home page, there are volume controls and a play/pause button which are all very useful, however there is no forward/rewind control and shockingly no Sleep button! I see no reason why a sleep button should be excluded from any keyboard. For me, it is an essential and I hope there is a way to assign this feature to another key.
The keyboard is stylishly designed with drainage holes in case you spill anything on it and the keys have good positive feedback when typing but I am very dissapointed with the height due to the 'legs' of the keyboard being unable to give the necessary tilt to make typing more comfortable and ergonomic. Also, with the legs down, the keyboard is tilted backwards and therefore is not an option.
The optical mouse has a good build quality and has the added benefit of a sleep function so that it doesn't use up the battery when not in use.
Overall, it is a very good quality package which is slightly let down by the height/tilt & absence of a sleep button. Recommended if you don't mind these factors otherwise look at later models. |

Mouse and keyboard used perfectly from distance of 3 metres - However I've noticed since first reviewing it that the keyboard 'can' mess up when the range exceeds 30cm.
I did initially have problems with jerkiness when high-use applications were on which did seem strange. I tried different batteries and this removed the problem completely. My only gripe with the device was establishing the initial connection. There were instructions which weren't super-clear. I ended up using a trial and error approach and wiggling the mouse until I got a response.
A really good feature of the mouse that you don't get with most mice is the sleep function. After a short period of non-use, you need to wake up the device, not by moving it, but by rolling the scroll wheel, which is actually well thought out. This must save a lot on the battery life.
Keyboard feels very nice. Buttons go down easily and then there is firm resistance. There is a reassuring feedback from the key presses. I choose this over other products because most keyboard are over sized with molded plastic lumps which just make the keyboard huge. Not this one. Keys are normal size, but design is slim which I like, and it has a few short-cut buttons along the top which I never use.
-Range: mouse absolutely fine. Keyboard - intermittent between excellent and poor beyond 30cm
-Decent mouse
-Mouse sleep function extends battery life - a rarity
-Decent keyboard -good feedback
I have no complaints. Solved the connection issue within 5 mins of thinking about it. |
